Boom! Bap! Pow! have released a new single and film clip – Suit. The group – described as “Perth’s finest purveyors of infectious soul pop” could steal anyone’s limelight with their remarkably enthralling sounds. They will draw you in, and then you’ll be stuck. This is what it would be like if insects found joy in landing on fly-paper. Boom! Bap! Pow! presents music that will get stuck in your head without making you wish it away into a realm of non-existence.
Ridiculously-attractive leading lady Novak Bull has an outspoken sort of personality that you just can’t get enough of. This is evident enough throughout the film clip, which looks a little bit on the Tarantino side, but is in fact produced by the award winning film maker Ben Young. Noted as “relentlessly playful”, this getup is one to keep an eye – and an ear – on.
Compared to their older material, Suit is said to be a little bit more refined. With the help of producer Matt Giovennangelo (Voltaire Twins, Split Seconds) in the highly regarded Studio Couch – mixed by Steve Schram (San Cisco, The Cat Empire) – they’ve been able to come out guns-a-blazing with such boisterous confidence you simply won’t be able to look away.
In the past, Boom! Bap! Pow!’s musical releases have seen them tour relentlessly, also picking up spots at such festivals as Laneway, The Big Day Out and Queenscliffe Music Festival – just to name a few. Suit is available on iTunes now; Boom! Bap! Pow!’s LP Heavy is set to be released mid 2013.
